Mahad Darul Marif is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by U.S. law. Our EIN is 99-4722089.
How Donations Are Used
Funds raised are directed to specific, accountable purposes aligned with our mission:
Property Acquisition
~85%The majority of funds go toward securing a suitable property in Upstate New York or the Binghamton region — including down payment, closing costs, and essential building preparation.
Programs & Operations
~10%Direct program costs including educational materials, classroom setup, prayer space furnishings, and community events.
Administrative & Legal
~5%Essential operational expenses including legal fees, insurance, accounting, and minimal staffing required to maintain compliance and transparency.
Governance & Accountability
- Our Board of Directors provides oversight and approves all major financial decisions
- Annual financial reviews are conducted by independent accountants
- We file Form 990 annually as required by the IRS for 501(c)(3) organizations
- Donor records are maintained securely and confidentially
- All expenditures require dual authorization above established thresholds
Current Campaign: Property Fund
The property campaign is a restricted fund — every dollar donated is reserved exclusively for the acquisition and initial setup of a suitable property in Upstate New York and the Binghamton region.
